Career - Cell biology
Cell biology (sometimes called cytology) includes the study of cell structure, function and formation including the cells environment and interactions. In a Bachelor degree, cell biology is often studied alongside highly related subjects including molecular biology and biochemistry. A knowledge of cell biology provides a solid foundation applicable to a number of other study areas including genetics, cancer, immunology, pathology, stem cell biology and more. For those considering a career in research, higher degree studies (such as Honours, Masters or PhD) are usually required. Those with an undergraduate background in cell biology should possess relevant knowledge and skills applicable to just about any project area of higher degree study desired.
