Banner positioning and image requirements

Bottom page banners

The positioning of the two bottom page banners can be seen when scrolling to the bottom of this web page. The positioning of these banners will be different on desktop, laptop & large tablet computers compared to smaller mobile devises & smart phones. Bottom page banner images must be static / still. The use of various colours, text, photos, etc is flexible. Images must be submitted to BioscienceCentral in jpeg format with a height of 265 pixels and a width of 375 pixels.

Vertical banners (V)

Most web pages contain 5 equally sized vertical banner positions shown here labelled V1 – V5. The positioning of these banners will be different on desktop, laptop & large tablet computers compared to smaller mobile devises & smart phones. Vertical banner images must be static / still. The use of various colours, text, photos, etc is flexible. Images must be submitted to BioscienceCentral in jpeg format with a height of 220 pixels and a width of 300 pixels.

Horizontal banners (H)

Please note, on smaller mobile devises & smart phones, horizontal banners may not be displayed. As biosciencecentral.com is predominantly a work-related website it is envisioned that the website will be accessed most of the time using a large tablet, laptop or desktop computer. BioscienceCentral has designed the horizontal banner positions to be displayed in a fixed position at the bottom of the screen on large tablet, laptop and desktop computers. In fixed position, horizontal banners will remain visible, unaffected by page scrolling. On large tablet, laptop & desktop computers all web pages contain 7 equally sized horizontal banner positions (H1 – H7). Horizontal banners are designed for logo or brand name advertising. Horizontal banners must consist of static / still images with white background and no border. Images must be submitted to BioscienceCentral in jpeg format with a height of 50 pixels and a width of 120 pixels.

Important

To avoid any resolution distortions with your jpeg images, it is essential that you submit images with the specific pixel heights and widths described above. BioscienceCentral will not resize images or make jpeg conversions on your behalf, as there is a possibility of image resolution distortion that you may be unsatisfied with.
